New Year, New You: Going Back to the Dentist
January 28, 2022

It’s January, and for lots of people, that means making major resolutions that won’t last past February. But here’s the good news: there’s a simple resolution you can make, and keep, that will drastically improve your health and confidence.

It’s painless. Fast. And easy to commit to.

What is it? Visiting your dentist at least once (hopefully twice!) this year. We know, going to the dentist isn’t everyone’s favorite activity, especially if you haven’t been in a while. But we’re here to ease your worries and assure you it’s really not that bad.

If you haven’t seen your dentist lately, you might be worried about what they’re going to say. Maybe you’ve been made to feel ashamed by other doctors or dentists in the past, but at Moellers and Moellers, we’re in the business of helping you achieve your best oral health—no matter your current situation.

And trust us, we’ve seen everything, so nothing shocks or disappoints…although we do get a little sad when people call us scary (we promise, we’re really not).

If it’s been a while since you’ve seen us, here are 3 tips to make going back to the dentist after a long hiatus a little easier.

1. Start Small. Commit to flossing just one tooth a day. Eventually, you’ll start to notice how good that spot feels and decide to floss the rest. But for now, conquering a small goal will give you the boost you need to reach bigger ones.

 2. Talk To Us. Whether your absence has been due to anxiety, cost, or simply not having the time, we want to help you come up with a plan to put yourself, and your health, first. We also want your visit with us to be as comfortable as possible, so if there’s anything we can do to set you at ease, please let us know.

3. Treat Yourself. Congrats! You overcame your fears and set up a dentist appointment. You deserve a treat (not of the sugary variety). On the day of your appointment, treat yourself to something fun: like a meal from your favorite restaurant, a visit with your best friend, or an afternoon off work to relax and unwind. You deserve it.

You should feel proud and empowered by your decision to take charge of your health and go back to the dentist. 2020 is your year—and this is a resolution you can stick to. We’ll be right here cheering you on.
